COMING SOON: Revelshine!

By David Keck

We’ve seen the explosion of wine in cans, and alternative packaging options for wine have been going strong since Bag in the Box, Keg wines, etc. etc. etc. A new option is coming to Vermont for your enjoyment. Not only is the packaging perfect for that hike or river trip, the wine inside is ALSO awesome. That’s a pretty rare combination.

Limerick Lane Cellars is an old-guard, truly outstanding producer of wine in Sonoma. They have long been one of the top producers of Zinfandel and any number of other varieties from some of the best sites in the North Coast. Fourth generation winemaker, Jake Bilbro, founded Revelshine with his lifestyle in mind. Thankfully, he likes to do a lot of things that we like to do over here at VT Wine Shepherd—in his words: "While my work life has always led me through wine, my passion and love is the outdoors. Rivers, mountains, beaches, music festivals - this is where I find my inspiration. I realized, along with my other friends who are surfers, skiers, kayakers, mountain bikers and musicians that you just do not have good wine where we enjoy these activities. If you do, it is because you had to go to extraordinary lengths to bring it (such as duct taping your bottles or pouring your good wine into inflatable bladders from previous boxed wine). No matter the bottle, the glass doesn't work on the beach or the river. And that is how Revelshine was created."

Sustainably produced from Russian River Valley fruit, the wines are in 500mL, infinitely recyclable aluminum bottles, and are partnering with 1% For the Planet. Bottled as White, Red, and Rosé, we are quite serious when we say that unlike so many other wines in alternative packaging, this wine sacrifices nothing in quality to be released in this format. It’s intended to be delicious and serious wine for outdoor enthusiasts that also want something affordable and packable for that overnight hike to one of the Green Mountain Club huts, the backcountry ski trip, or the canoe trip into Green River Reservoir. Ask your sales rep about pricing and arrival information. Shipping is a nightmare right now, but we’re hoping this lands THIS WEEK!

Cheers!
