Unity Vibration
By Liezl Cosentino
You've heard of kombucha - the fermented tea drink that's often slightly carbonated, slightly vinegary, and super tasty. And you've heard of beer (duh, that's why we're all here…) But have you ever heard of kombucha-beer??
Enter Unity Vibration. A family owned and operated kombucha brewer based in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Rachel and Tarek Kanaan's story begins in 2008 with selling home-brewed kombucha to family and friends out of the back of their van. As the popularity of their home brew grew, they took the a leap of faith, quit their day jobs and opened up their family business.
In 2010 there was a national “Kombucha Crack-down” in which product was pulled from shelves to test for alcohol levels. (All kombucha contains trace amounts of alcohol due to the fermentation process!). Unity Vibration decided to make lemonade out of lemons and embraced the set back. They put their minds together and released their very first Kombucha Beer!
So, what the heck is Kombucha Beer? Well, it's a combination of their 30-day brewed Kombucha, organic dried hops and either organic raw ginger root, organic fresh raspberries, organic peaches, or three types of hops, juniper and grapefruit rind. It's then aged and open-air-fermented on oak and then bottle/can/keg conditioned. The tasty brew is made with Organic/Fair Trade ingredients and is gluten free, vegan certified, and Kosher. Damn.
This is the second arrival of Unity Vibration to the Green Mountain State and we couldn't be more stoked to have them back in stock!
